
Leading Change: Certificate Program Series
The program is held over four 4-hour sessions. Dr. Walker will be delivering Sessions 2 (The Art of Influence) and 3 (Performance Improvement Basics) at the 2016 CVSL Symposium in Washington DC. Registration is open for these sessions. Availability is very limited and early registration is strongly encouraged.
Overview: Physician Leadership Foundation Certificate
- A total of four 4-hour sessions held over the course of a year
- To receive the program certificate, participants must complete all four sessions
- The session cohorts will be open to 36 participants; physicians and administrators
- The sessions are sequential, utilizing experiential learning and skill development
- CMEs will be offered
- Reading material will be distributed prior to each session

Edward A. Walker, MD, MHA

Edward A. Walker, MD, MHA, has spent more than two decades devoted to researching and coaching the process of leadership development of physicians. As Chief Medical Officer for the UW Medical Center from 2002-2008 and as a core faculty member of the Masters of Health Administration he has acquired a national reputation for the development of innovative physician leadership education methods which have increased physician performance and effectiveness. He is currently the director of the University of Washington Certificate in Medical Management and board chair of the Washington Physicians Health Program. In addition, he designs and directs evidence-based professional development programs for the Washington State Medical Association and the Washington State Hospital Association. Dr. Walker is a core faculty member of the American Association for Physician Leadership where he teaches courses on Medical Quality, Coaching and CMO development.
